Preparing Your Quilt Top
These guidelines are to ensure that I can provide you the best possible finished product.
This includes piecing backs, pressing, seam repairs, and clipping threads. Because the quilt is attached to rollers on top and bottom and is clamped on the sides the backing and batting should be 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than quilt top (i.e., if your quilt top measures 60” x 70”, your backing and batting must be a least 68” x 78”) If it is significantly smaller please attach strips of material, equally on both sides of backing to make it large enough for the quilt top to be pinned to my roller leaders.
1. Your backing fabric needs to be square, especially top and bottom, because that is how straight your quilt will be attached to the longarm. If your backing fabric has wavey or uneven edges please cut them straight.
2. Please do not pin, baste or join the layers in any way.
3. Make sure your seams and stitches are secure. An open seam could catch the foot of the machine and cause disastrous results.
4. Trim all excess threads on top and backing.
5. Make sure your quilt top has no wavy borders. Please know I do not expect perfection, I'm only striving to help prevent wrinkles and pleats in your quilt.
6. Press your quilt top and backing. Make sure all seams are flat.
7. If you would like binding services please provide the uncut fabric. To cut, construct, attach and hand bind we charge $2 a linear foot.
I appreciate your business. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call me!

Wall hangings are great fun and are usually quick and easy to quilt. If you haven't attempted a bed-size quilt you might want to begin with a small wall hanging.
This quilt looks absolutely lovely quilted with the Baptist Fan design.
Nature's Jewels is a Block of the Month (BOM) quilt and it is beautiful! One of my gentleman quilters did this. . . and it's reversible, too.
